About this guide

Where to stay in Milwaukee depends on the area first and the place second. We run one option, the 3rd Street Retreat, and we will tell you plainly when another fits better.

Plan your day

The airport is an 8-mile, easy 15-minute drive from downtown. Wauwatosa is 10 minutes from the action at AmFam Field, says Discover Wauwatosa. On Brewers days our bars' free shuttles start two hours before first pitch.

By area

By trip type

Game weekend: stay close to the action. Downtown and Deer District put you by Fiserv Forum. Wauwatosa is minutes from downtown. On Brewers days, many bars and hotels run shuttles to the ballpark, and our bars run free courtesy shuttles with any purchase.

Wedding weekend: keep the party together. Block hotel rooms downtown, or book short‑term rentals that sleep from 12 to 16 each. Ask us about private events at Oak Barrel and catering for the rehearsal dinner.

Group trip: if the group wants one address, our rentals do that, and a rented shuttle bus gets everyone around together. Smaller groups can split across hotels, which works too.

Family visit: look for suites with separate bedrooms. Then fill the days. The county zoo covers 190 acres, and Discovery World is home to the Reiman Aquarium.

Ours, and one option among many

3rd Street Retreat is five short‑term rentals above Oak Barrel Public House on Old World Third Street, and Fiserv Forum is a walk away. Every rental has two bedrooms and two baths. They sleep 12, 14, 14, 15 and 16, which is 71 guests across the building, and each booking page lists its beds so you can check the count. See the rentals.

It is one good option, not the only one. If a hotel or another neighborhood fits your trip better, go there. We will still be glad to see you for a beer.
